Account Deletion Guide

How to delete your dot account, the 7-day grace period, and how data is handled after deletion.

How to delete your account

  1. [Delete in the app] In the dot app, go to Settings → Account Management → Delete Account to submit the request directly.
  2. [Delete through Customer Support] If you cannot access the app, email with the email address or nickname used for your account and ask us to delete it. We may verify your identity before processing the request.

    There is no fee for deleting your account.

7-day grace period

  1. [Immediately after the request] Sign-in is restricted and your profile is no longer shown in discovery or elsewhere in the Service.
  2. [For 7 days] A 7-day grace period is provided in case the account was deleted by mistake. During this period, you may request account recovery at .
  3. [After 7 days] Account deletion proceeds and cannot be reversed once complete. Our server likewise finalizes deletion only for accounts whose deletion request is more than 7 days old.

Information deleted

Once account deletion is complete, personal information linked to the account is deleted except where retention is required by law or for safety.

  • Account and sign-in information
  • Profile information and profile photos
  • FACE verification information
  • Service activity such as LIKE/PASS, matches, and requests
  • Contact hashes used to hide acquaintances
  • Location information
  1. [Chat and community] Chat messages, community posts, and comments already delivered to other users may remain as the other user's activity record or as conversation and posting records within the Service. In these cases, the deleted user's profile information is no longer shown or may be displayed as a deleted user.

Some information is retained for a period

Some information is retained on a limited basis for the periods necessary to comply with applicable law, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse.

  • Contract, withdrawal, payment, and supply records: 5 years
  • Consumer complaint and dispute resolution records: 3 years
  • Safety records such as reports, blocks, and abuse: 3 years
  • Service access logs: 3 months
  • Anonymous identity-verification identifiers: for the period necessary to prevent duplicate or fraudulent re-registration

Information is destroyed without delay when its retention period ends.

If you have a subscription

Deleting your dot account may not automatically cancel an active subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

To prevent further charges, cancel the subscription in the relevant app store separately from deleting your account.
